Blessed if willing to be poor in spirit. Also known as humility. To enter this humbling of spirit requires you to know yourself. But sometimes getting to know yourself can be a painful experience - but maturity isn't cheap.
Tim Keller once said Pride is the carbon monoxide of sin. It silently and slowly kills you without you even knowing. The spirit willing to learn the way of humility (which is the way of Jesus) brings fresh air that blows away pride and brings clarity, cleansing and hope to the spirit. The Kingdom of Heaven sweeps in.
